Windows 8 has two new features Reset an Refresh and both these features are designed as remedy to the whole OS reinstallation in case of virus, malware infection or random errors. It has become tradition among windows users to reinstall whole OS incase of unfixable errors but with Windows 8 things will change as the capability to revert Windows 8 to the state of fresh install has been added via reset and refresh feature.
In Windows 8 developer preview you can access system Reset & Refresh from Control panel or by pressing F8 key during boot process. However if you attempt to test any of these features you will be presented with screen to enter product key. Unlike Windows 7 public beta where Microsoft had offered free product keys to every one however in Windows 8 Developer Preview there is no product key being is offered infect you won’t see any screen to enter product key during installation too.
So how you can test Reset & Refresh feature? Well Microsoft developer Michael at MSDN forum while answering to one of the question posted the product keys for Windows 8 Developer Preview & Windows Developer Preview server version. The product keys are free to use while reinstalling Windows Developer Preview or using the Reset functionality.
Here are product keys which you can use only for Windows Developer Preview.
